About Us
We are seeking a skilled technician with 12-volt electrical experience, ideally in the public safety sector. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining specialized equipment in emergency and fleet vehicles. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, interact professionally with customers, and properly complete required paperwork.
This is a full-time position located in Dorothy, NJ, with work hours Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM. Overtime opportunities are available. Some travel is required for on-site installations or service calls.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Install and configure public safety equipment: lights, sirens, cages, consoles, partitions, storage solutions, radios, and modems.
Conduct installations, de-installations, upgrades, and repairs of automotive electronics following company standards.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams and manufacturer instructions accurately.
Troubleshoot and repair vehicle systems to ensure safety and performance.
Maintain proper service paperwork and documentation of work performed.
Interact with customers in a professional, service-oriented manner.
Provide basic technical support to clients regarding product functionality.
Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and support larger projects.
Qualifications/ Requirements
Experience with 12-volt vehicle electronics.
Public safety or fleet vehicle installation/repair experience preferred.
Must provide your own hand tools (specialty tools and shop equipment provided).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and make quality decisions.
Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy in documentation.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license required.
Additional technical training or certifications (EVT, MECP, manufacturer training) a plus.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stand, and work inside vehicles for extended periods.
